  • 1914

    Genevieve Chandler Phipps purchased 1,000 acres, built Stone Cottage, Guest House, Manor, and Carriage House.

  • 1917

    Pool built adjacent to Upper Bear Creek.

  • 1931

    Greystone inherited by Helen Phipps Bromfield and Dorothy Phipps Garrett.

  • 1939

    Elmer and Peg Wilfley purchased Greystone, added 250 acres.

  • 1940

    Pool House built for the Wilfey's oldest son.

  • 1946

    Colonel William and Sadie Sandifer converted Grey Stone into a guest ranch.

  • 1950

    Bill Sandifer Jr. subdivided 250 acres into Greystone Lazy Acres.

  • 1956

    Pavilion with grand stone fireplace built.

  • 1965

    New pool built by Manor House, original pool demolished in the 1970s.

  • 1970

    200 acres sold to form Greystone Estates.

  • 1981

    Nathaniel and Margaret Burt purchased 55 acres for daughter Margery and Warren A. Smith.

  • 1987-1989

    Warren Smith filed for bankruptcy, United Bank of Bear Valley foreclosed.

  • 1991-1992

    Purchased by Jim Peter. Main title sold to Richard and Pamela Bard. Pool and Guest Houses renovated.

  • 1993-2001

    Carriage House renovated, Manor House updated, Pool rebuilt, Pavilion reconstructed with white oak timber frame.
